Being a part of the 36th Rotaract District Assembly was an unforgettable milestone in my Rotaract journey. As a new member of the Rotaract Club of Panadura, this was my very first District Assembly, and I had the privilege of representing my club alongside fellow Rotaractors. I walked into the event with excitement, curiosity, and a little nervousness, but I left feeling inspired, motivated, and proud to be a member of this incredible movement.
The District Assembly was much more than just an event it was an opportunity to understand the true spirit of Rotaract. Meeting members from different clubs, sharing experiences, and learning from experienced leaders gave me a fresh perspective on service, leadership, and fellowship.
One of the most memorable moments was witnessing the installation process of the new District leadership. Watching the official transition of responsibilities highlighted the values of commitment, accountability, and continuity that make Rotaract such a strong organization. It was inspiring to see leaders take on new responsibilities with dedication and passion, reminding me that every Rotaractor has the opportunity to grow and make a meaningful impact.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt best wishes to the newly appointed District leadership under the guidance of PHF Rtn. Rtr. PP Jude Shannon Lucian. Congratulations to the entire District Steering Committee on taking up the responsibility of leading District Rotaract in the coming year. I wish DRR Jude and the entire team a successful, impactful, and memorable Rotary year filled with meaningful service projects, strong fellowship, and outstanding achievements.
Apart from the inspiring sessions and ceremonies, the hospitality at the Assembly was exceptional. The food served throughout the event was delicious, well-organized, and catered perfectly to everyone. Sharing meals with fellow Rotaractors created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, allowing us to build new friendships and strengthen existing ones. Sometimes, the best conversations happen over a good meal, and the District Assembly was no exception.
As the formal programme came to an end, the excitement continued with the RDA after-party. It was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the entire experience. The music, dancing, laughter, and energetic atmosphere brought everyone together beyond club boundaries. It was amazing to see Rotaractors from different parts of the district celebrating, interacting, and creating memories as one family. As a first-time participant, the after-party made me feel truly welcomed into the Rotaract community.
Looking back, my first District Assembly was a perfect blend of learning, leadership, fellowship, and celebration. It helped me understand that Rotaract is not only about community service but also about building lifelong friendships, developing leadership skills, and becoming part of something much bigger than ourselves.
Representing the Rotaract Club of Panadura at the 36th Rotaract District Assembly was an honour that I will always cherish. I am grateful for this incredible experience and excited to continue my journey in Rotaract. This Assembly has inspired me to become a more active member, embrace new opportunities, and contribute wholeheartedly to the growth of my club and the district.
Here's to an amazing Rotary year ahead! Congratulations once again to PHF Rtn. Rtr. PP Jude Shannon Lucian, DRR Jude, and the entire District Steering Committee. Wishing you all the very best as you lead District Rotaract to even greater heights.
